Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your mobile number, to sign you in with an SMS code.
• Your name, language and location (state, district, taluka, village).
• Your bulls: name, photos, teeth stage, birth date, description, awards and ownership history, including transfers.
• The Sharyat you organize or help run, your race registrations, invites and pairs, line-up marks, results, ties and objections.
• Payment records: amount, status and the Razorpay order and payment numbers. You enter card, UPI and bank details with Razorpay. We never see or store them.
• For “Pay organizer directly” Sharyat: the organizer’s UPI ID, the name on that UPI account and its QR photo, and the 12-digit UPI reference (UTR) you enter after paying the organizer.
• For organizers of a “Pay in app” Sharyat: the bank account and IFSC, or the UPI ID, where we send the payout.
• What you share: your profile photo, posts, photos, reels and their captions, comments, likes and follows, and the reports and blocks you make.
• Technical data: a notification token for your phone, the app version, your notifications and sign-in sessions.
• Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase): an ID of the app on your phone, the screens you open, actions such as sign-in, share, post and follow, your phone model and Android version, and your approximate region. When you are signed in, your BailGada-Sharyat user number is added. Your name and mobile number are never sent.
• Ads (Google AdMob, only in the Reels and Post feeds): your phone’s advertising ID, IP address, device information, and the ads you see and tap. Our own sponsor ads count only views and taps, with no personal data.

Why we use it

• To sign you in and keep your account safe.
• To run Sharyat: registration, entry fees, draw, line-up check, results, ties, objections and prizes.
• To show bull pages and race history.
• To send you notifications about your races, invites, payments and account.
• To prevent misuse: limits on repeated attempts, the automatic check of photos and videos, blocking accounts that break the rules, and a record of organizer and admin actions.
• Usage statistics show us which parts of the app are used, so we can improve it.
• Ads in the Reels and Post feeds pay for running the app.

What others can see

Race results are public. Anyone can see a published Sharyat, its heats, the pairs, bull names and photos, owner names and the results. Bull pages and their race history are public too. Your mobile number is never shown to others. Someone who already knows your number can type it to find you, for example to invite your bull as a partner or to add you to a race team; they then see your name and village. Organizers see what they need to run their Sharyat, such as the owner and bull names, registration status and payment status of each entry. In a “Pay organizer directly” Sharyat, owners with an entry there see the organizer’s UPI ID, name and QR, and the organizer sees the UPI reference (UTR) you enter.

Services we use

Firebase (Google) sends the SMS sign-in codes and delivers notifications, and Google Analytics for Firebase counts how the app is used. Google Cloud Vision checks photos and reel videos before others can see them. Razorpay handles payments made in the app. MongoDB Atlas runs our database and Railway our servers. Error reports go to Sentry (EU) and server logs to Better Stack (USA), without phone numbers, OTP codes or tokens, and are kept for a short time. Cloudflare stores photos and reel videos and runs this website. They handle your data only to provide these services to us. Google AdMob shows the ads in the Reels and Post feeds and uses the ad data under Google’s privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy), which can include choosing ads by your interests. We give data to the police or a court only when the law requires it. We do not sell your data.

Where your data is kept

Our database is in Mumbai, India. Our servers run in Singapore, so your data is also processed there. Photos and reel videos are stored with Cloudflare. Data travels between your phone and our servers over encrypted connections.

How long we keep it

Your account data is kept while your account exists. Notifications are deleted after 90 days. When you log out, that sign-in session ends and the phone’s notification token is deleted. When you delete your account, your personal details are removed or anonymized at once, your posts, reels, comments and likes are removed, and your bulls are archived. Race results, payment records and the record of actions are kept, linked only to an anonymous “Deleted user”, because they are part of other people’s race history and of our accounts. Google Analytics keeps the usage statistics for up to 14 months.

Your choices and rights

You can see and correct your profile in the app. Your location is locked after your first registration; an admin can unlock it. You can turn notifications off in Settings. You can withdraw your consent by deleting your account. Delete it in Settings → Account → Delete account, or ask us by email (see bailgada-sharyat.in/delete-account). You cannot delete it while you have registrations in a Sharyat that is not completed, bull transfers waiting, a Sharyat you organize or help run that is not finished, money from a completed Sharyat not yet sent to you, or an admin level. You can reset or delete your phone’s advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads. Where the law requires ad consent, you can change it in Settings → Ad privacy choices. You can ask us what data we hold about you. If our answer to your complaint does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
